The Certified Distance Education
Instructor (CDEI) program is designed to be used by persons preparing
to teach professional education and academic courses via a variety
of distance education delivery methods such as Internet, CBT,
and other modes of distance education. Students
becoming certified will have an excellent credential and knowledgebase
by which to begin or continue their work facilitating distance
education courses. Learn
more about becoming a Certified Distance Education Instructor.
Do you need to verify IDECC certification for a distance education course? You can easily do so by selecting "Certified Courses" choosing the name of the school and pressing search. The name of the course should match precisely with what was communicated to you by the school. [Show me how to search.]
The development of the IDECC online course management
system (CMS) represents a substantial commitment by IDECC to
ensure courses are certified and processed in a timely manner.
Providers of certified courses can login to the CMS here.
If you would like a quick start to using the course mangement
system (CMS) you can view
a new multimedia demonstration here.
The purpose of the CMS is to allow providers to do all of the following through a convenient web-based interface:
- submit new courses for certification
- recertify and track currently certified courses
- check on the status of course reviews
- archive communications with course reviewers
- allow review fees to be paid with a credit card
